In accordance with 24 CFR 85.36(1)(10), the Contractor, and his subcontractor, if any, shall retain all pertinent books, documents, papers and records involving transactions relating to this contract for three years from the date of final payment under this contract. The Contractor shall make such records available to the COUNTY, the Comptroller General of the United States, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, or their duly authorized representatives, for the purpose of making audit, examination, excerpts and transcriptions. The periods of access and examination described above, for records which related to litigation or the settlement of claims arising out of the performance of this contract, or costs and expenses of this contract as to which exception has been take by the COUNTY, the Comptroller General of the United States, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, or their duly authorized representatives, shall continue until such litigation, claims, or exceptions have been disposed of. 5.
