be deemed necessary to assure proper accounting for all <br />project funds, both Federal and non-Federal shares. <br />In accordance with 24 CFR 85.36(1)(10), the Contractor, <br />and his subcontractor, if any, shall retain all <br />pertinent books, documents, papers and records involving <br />transactions relating to this contract for three years <br />from the date of final payment under this contract. The <br />Contractor shall make such records available to the <br />COUNTY, the Comptroller General of the United States, <br />the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, or <br />their duly authorized representatives, for the purpose <br />of making audit, examination, excerpts and <br />transcriptions. <br />The periods of access and examination described above, <br />for records which related to litigation or the <br />settlement of claims arising out of the performance of <br />this contract, or costs and expenses of this contract as <br />to which exception has been take by the COUNTY, the <br />Comptroller General of the United States, the U.S. <br />Department of Housing and Urban Development, or their <br />duly authorized representatives, shall continue until <br />such litigation, claims, or exceptions have been <br />disposed of. <br />5.
