Year-To-Date Budget <br />Summary <br />INFORMATION CONTACT: <br />Clarence Grier, (919) 245-2453 <br />PURPOSE: To approve budget, grant and capital project ordinance amendments for fiscal year <br />2010-11. <br />BACKGROUND: <br />Department on Aging <br />1. The Department on Aging has received additional revenue for the following programs: <br />Senior Lunch Program -receipt of $3,900 from the Town of Chapel Hill, as well as <br />$7,737 in American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) of 2009 funds to <br />support the department's Senior Lunch Program. These funds will be used to <br />purchase additional meals for program participants. <br />• Operation Fan -funds totaling $3,125 for Operation Fan from Duke Power through <br />the Triangle J Council of Governments. This program purchases .fans and air <br />conditioners for low-income, older adults in need in Orange County. <br />This budget amendment provides for the receipt of these additional funds for the above <br />stated purposes. (See Attachment 1, column 1) <br />2. The Department on Aging has also received funds totaling $6,000 from UNC Hospitals <br />in support of the department's University Mall Walk Wellness Program. These funds will <br />cover costs of meals served at the Mall walks each month. This budget amendment <br />provides for the receipt of these funds, and amends the current Senior Citizen Health <br />Promotion Program Grant Project Ordinance as follows: (See Attachment 1, column 2) <br />
