El <br />Public Comment Period: <br />October 2 through October 16, 2006 <br />Work First is North Carolina's program to administer the federal Temporary Assistance <br />for Needy Families block grant. A planning committee consisting of representatives from <br />local government, public, private and neighborhood organizations, and Work First <br />participants designed the attached plan to administer Work First in Orange County from <br />October 2007 to September 2009. <br />The public may review and comment on this draft plan prior to its submission to the <br />Board of County Commissioners. Public comments will be received from October 2, <br />2006 through October 16, 2006. Following approval by the Board, the plan must then be <br />submitted to the North Carolina Division of Social Services, which will in turn present <br />the collective State Plan to the North Carolina General Assembly. <br />Written comments on the draft plan will be accepted through October 16, 2006.
