Telecommunication Tower Application 49
Piedmont ectrc em ers p o
of this Application Package. The class of
service will be FB2 per the FCC license.
6) The antenna systems will be installed in an omni-
directional fashion with an effective radiated
power of approximately 160 watts.
7) No directional antennas will be used on this radio
system. All antennas will be omni- directional.
8) The proposed PEMC tower in Orange_ County will
not exceed the FCC peak power limits. PEMC
will meet all local, state and federal requirements
regarding construction, height, location and
transmit power levels. The FCC has stated that
base stations need evaluation for peak equivalent
isotropically radiated power (EIRP) in excess of
1640 watts or antennas mounted less than 10
meters from the ground. Neither criterion will
apply to this Orange County site.
9) ALE has engineered the proposed radio system
and has utilized the services of Comsearch, Inc. to
provide frequency coordination services for the
FCC. The approved frequencies are certified to
not cause any interference to other adjacent
communication devices.
10) In response to Orange Counties desire for co-
location, ALE conducted a detailed analysis of all
nearby towers that might be considered for usage
by PEMC. In Tab 7 of this Application Package,
propagation maps are included that indicate the
radio coverage areas of all the nearby towers
would reduce the two -way radio coverage area by
30 %. A total of approximately 20 miles coverage
is proposed by the new PEMC tower while the
best coverage available from the American Tower
in the area would be 14 miles.
AUE thereby certifies that no other radio tower
sites are available in the Orange County area to
meet PEMC's requirements.
Prepared by:
Alexander Utility Engineering, Inc. 6/28/2006 Page 4 of 6
