WHEREAS, in 1998, the voters of Orange County elected Joyce Pearson into office as <br /> Register of Deeds, making her the second woman to hold this countywide elected office in <br /> Orange County, and Ms. Pearson has proven herself to be a dedicated and effective public <br /> servant who has gained the admiration and respect of all who have known her in both the <br /> public and private sectors; and <br /> WHEREAS, Ms. Pearson was responsible for the implementation of the AMCAD (AMERICAN <br /> CADASTRE, LLC) System, a system that provides images on the web and faster and more <br /> effective service; and <br /> WHEREAS, during her tenure with the Register of Deeds office, Joyce Pearson has served on <br /> the Vital Records, Constitution/By-Laws and Resolutions Committees of the North Carolina <br /> Association of Register of Deeds; and <br /> WHEREAS, through her tireless service Ms. Pearson has demonstrated leadership, wisdom, <br /> and community spirit — all tempered with common sense and an approachable and open <br /> demeanor —thus enhancing County services and improving Orange County's unique quality of <br /> life; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Orange County Board of Commissioners desire, on behalf of themselves and <br /> the residents of Orange County, to express to Joyce Pearson their deep appreciation and <br /> gratitude for her service rendered to the County over the past twenty-two years; <br /> NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED the Orange County Board of Commissioners offers <br /> Ms. Pearson its very best wishes for success, happiness, prosperity and good health in her <br /> future endeavors. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this resolution be presented to Ms. Pearson and that the <br /> Resolution be spread upon the minutes of this meeting. <br /> This the 15th day of June 2010. <br /> A motion was made by seconded by to approve a resolution of recognition for Joyce <br /> Pearson, retiring Register of Deeds for Orange County. <br /> VOTE: UNANIMOUS <br /> There was no motion or vote. <br /> 4.
