3. 00 <br /> WHEREAS, planned improvements involve the construction of four additional traffic lanes and <br /> removal of the overpass over West Ten Road; and <br /> WHEREAS, planned improvements will create additional impervious surface in the Seven Mile <br /> Creek protected watershed area and limit pedestrian and non-motorized access from Ben. <br /> Johnston Road to point south of Interstate 85; and - <br /> WHEREAS, the Orange County Board of Commissioners desires a program of cooperative, <br /> coordinated, and continuing transportation planning with the State of North Carolina; •and <br /> WHEREAS, the Orange County Board of Commissioners is committed to the protection of <br /> existing and future drinking water supplies and to mobility opportunities for its citizens; <br /> NOW THEREFORE, the Orange County Board of Commissioners requests that: <br /> * The North Carolina Department of Transportation implement appropriate best <br /> management practices to control runoff from Interstate 85 into Seven Mile Creek; <br /> and <br /> * That pedestrian and non-motorized access under Interstate 85 from Ben Johnston <br /> Road to West Ten Road be maintained through the use of a culvert or tunnel or <br /> similar structure. <br /> BE IT RESOLVED, this 5th day of March, 1990. <br /> F PARTIAL WIDTH RIGHT-OF-WAY FOR BENNIE BRADSHER <br /> This request is for a reduction in right-of-way from 50 to 25 feet. The <br /> proposed minor subdivision is located on the south side of Gibbs Lane off Palmers Grove <br /> Road. The applicant is requesting to divide a 4.41 acre lot. <br /> Motion was made by Commissioner Willhoit, seconded by Commissioner Halkiotis <br /> to approve the partial width right-of-way as per the Planning Board recommendation. <br /> VOTE: UNANIMOUS <br /> XI. APPOINTMENTS <br /> The following appointments were made by the Board: <br /> Nursing Home Community Advisory Committee - Julie A. Brannon <br /> Recreation and Parks Advisory Council - Susan Waldrop and Charles H. Burger <br /> XII. MINUTES <br /> Motion was made by Commissioner Marshall, seconded by Commissioner Halkiotis to <br /> approve the minutes for the February 5, 1990 Regular Meeting as circulated. <br /> VOTE: UNANIMOUS <br /> XIV. ADJOURNMENT <br /> With no further items for Board consideration, Chairman Moses Carey, Jr. adjourned <br /> the meeting.
