RESOLUTION OF APPRECIATION <br /> FOR <br /> STEVE F. YUHASZ <br /> WHEREAS, Steve Yuhasz has actively served on the Orange County Planning Board since on the ` <br /> June 4, 1984; and <br /> WHEREAS, Steve Yuhasz has faithfully served his fellow citizens of Cheeks Township as their <br /> representative on this volunteer board charged with assisting the elected Board of <br /> Commissioners; and <br /> WHEREAS, he has given of his technical skill and talent to benefit all the citizens of <br /> Orange County in judging the merits of potential land development; <br /> THEREFORE, the members of the Orange County Board of Commissioners do hereby thank Steve <br /> Yuhasz, upon his retirement from the Orange County Planning Board, for the service <br /> he performed on their behalf. <br /> VOTE: UNANIMOUS <br /> C PROCLAMATION FOR MENTAL RETARDATION MONTH <br /> Motion was made by Commissioner Marshall, seconded by Commissioner Halkiotis <br /> to proclaim March, 1990 as Mental Retardation Month in Orange County and to authorize the <br /> Chair to sign. The proclamation is stated below: <br /> COUNTY OF ORANGE <br /> PROCLAMATION ,... <br /> WHEREAS, mental retardation is a condition which today affects more than six <br /> million American children and adults and their families; and <br /> WHEREAS, the most effective weapons for alleviation of the serious problems <br /> associated with mental retardation are public knowledge and understanding; and <br /> WHEREAS, the potential for citizens with mental retardation to function more <br /> independently and productively must be fostered; and <br /> WHEREAS, during the month of March, 1990, members of national, state and local <br /> chapters of the Association for Retarded Citizens are making a special effort to forge <br /> vital employment, educational and fundraising campaigns to promote awareness of, and <br /> provide for the needs of persons with mental retardation and other developmental <br /> disabilities; <br /> I, Moses Carey, Chairman to the Orange County Commissioners, do hereby proclaim the <br /> month of March, 1990, as MENTAL RETARDATION MONTH in the County of Orange, and urge all <br /> citizens to learn more about mental retardation and assist in improving the quality of life <br /> of citizens with mental retardation. <br /> VOTE: UNANIMOUS <br /> D. RESOLUTION FOR TOLL FREE CALLING <br /> Motion was made by Commissioner Hartwell, seconded by Commissioner Halkiotis <br /> to adopt a resolution in support of the Triangle J Council of Governments plan for toll <br /> free calling and to authorize the Chair to sign. The resolution is stated below: <br />
