Arts Commission <br />3. The North Carolina Arts Council .has awarded the Orange County Arts Commission a one- <br />- time increase in Grassroots Arts Program funding of $13,310 bringing the County's state <br />arts grant total to $36,461 for fiscal year 2006-07. The Arts Commission plans to use these <br />funds for Orange County Arts Commission programs and as grants to local artists. This <br />budget amendment provides for the receipt of these funds from the North Carolina Arts <br />Council to be used for the above stated purposes. (See Attachment 1, column #3) <br />Health Department <br />4. The Health Department has received notification from the N.C. Department of Health and <br />Human Services of the receipt of $14,240 Pandemic Influenza Supplemental funds for fiscal <br />year 2006-07. The Department plans to combine these funds with the unexpended <br />supplemental funds totaling $12,175 from fiscal year 2005-06 to complete a local pandemic <br />influenza self assessment. <br />The Department plans to use these funds, totaling $26,415, to purchase personal protective <br />equipment, such as gloves, gowns, masks, and vests, for staff and volunteers to use in the <br />event of an outbreak/mass dispensing or other event. In addition, the Department plans to <br />purchase headsets for radiophones and medical bags to carry supplies.. This budget <br />amendment provides for the receipt of these funds and re-budgets unexpended funds from <br />fiscal year 2005-06 for the above stated purposes. (See Attachment 1, column #4) <br />5. The action requested in this item is an amendment to the County Fee Schedule to add <br />Environmental Health fees, approved by the Board of Health this past spring, outlined in the <br />chart below to the County's 2006-07 Fee Schedule. <br />
