ISSUE <br /> The Orange County Board of Commissioners, as authorized by North Carolina General <br /> Statutes 153A-92, have set the starting salaries for th�egister of Deeds and <br /> Sheriff positions are as set forth below. This will affect the individuals elected <br /> to these offices when they take office. All other compensation elements including <br /> expense allowances are as now set forth in the Orange county Personnel Ordinance. <br /> The starting salary for the Sheriff' s position will be $46,994.00, which is grade <br /> 80, step 3A of the 1989-90 Orange County salary plan. The starting salary for the <br /> Register of Deeds position will be $42,625.00 which is grade 78, step 3A of the <br /> 1989-90 Orange County salary plan. <br /> This resolution will not be altered or amended until after the persons elected <br /> Sheriff and Register of deeds in the 1990 election for those positions take office. <br /> Thereafter, the Board of Commissioners may adjust the starting salary of the <br /> persons elected considering the years of service and performance of the person <br /> elected. <br /> 3• PROFESSIONAL SERVICES CONTRACT--PEDIATRICS <br /> To approve the renewal and to authorize the Chair to sign a contract <br /> between the Department of Pediatrics at the UNC School of Medicine and Orange <br /> County to provide qualified clinicians to oversee treatment in the child health and <br /> adolescent clinics'.of the health department. <br /> 4. BUDGET ORDINANCE AMENDMENT #5 <br /> To approve amendments to the 1989-90 Budget Ordinance as stated below: <br /> GENERAL FUND $ 3,399 <br /> Source - Intergovernmental <br /> Appropriation - Contributions to Outside Agencies 3,399 <br /> (To budget CBA expansion funds for Volunteers for Youth) <br /> Source - Intergovernmental $ 27 ,988 <br /> Appropriation - Human Services $ 27 ,988 <br /> (to budget for additional Social Services funding) <br /> Source - Charges for Services $ 74,550 <br /> Appropriation - public Safety 74,550 <br /> (to budget for NCMH Neo-natal Ground Transfer Service Contract) <br /> SCHOOL CAPITAL RESERVE FUND <br /> Source - Appropriated Fund Balance $735,840 <br /> Appropriation - Transfer to General Fund 735,840 <br /> (To correct original Budget Ordinance) <br /> 5. GRANT PROJECT ORDINANCE--ENERGY CONSERVATION AND HOUSING REHABILITATION <br /> INCENTIVE PROGRAM <br /> To approve the extension of the grant period and authorize the County <br /> Manager' s signature accepting it and to approve the grant project ordinance as <br /> stated below for the Energy Conservation and Housing Rehabilitation incentive <br /> Program. <br /> GRANT PROJECT ORDINANCE <br /> ENERGY CONSERVATION AND HOUSING REHABILITATION INCENTIVE PROGRAM <br />
