ALERT CABLE = FIRST READING (The amendments will be listed on the .minutes of <br />November 6 after the second reading is approved). <br />The February 6, 1989 Alert Cable TV Franchise, Section IX.B. requires that 7.2 <br />miles of "plant" (cable). be built and activated as delineated in its 1987 proposal for a <br />County franchise. Alert has indicated the 7.2 mile cable extension has already been buil' <br />by Carolina Cable. Alert requests to be relieved of this responsibility in exchange for <br />building 17 miles of plant in a new area that would result in a density build-out of 21.1 <br />homes per mile. This area is described in a letter dated October 10 which is in the <br />permanent agenda file. <br />Motion was made by Commissioner Willhoit, seconded by Commissioner Marshall to <br />approve the proposed amendments to the Alert Cable TV Line Extension and Franchise <br />Agreement on first reading. <br />VOTE: UNANIMOUS <br />Wayne Wright, General Manager of Alert Cable TV assured the Board they would eeF <br />them informed of the kinds of programs being offered and give them a written report on wt <br />they do to provide service to the people in this community. <br />
