Secure Our Schools - <br />OCS Surveillance <br />Equipment Grant Project <br />Ordinance <br />PURPOSE: To approve budget ordinance and grant project ordinance amendments for fiscal <br />year 2005 -06. <br />BACKGROUND: <br />Arts Commission <br />The Howard Perry and Walston Foundation has selected the Orange County Arts <br />Commission to receive donations totaling $1,902 this fiscal year. The Arts Commission <br />plans to use the donations for community art projects at Seawell Elementary School and <br />East Chapel Hill High School. Each quarter, Howard Perry and Walston employees donate <br />a portion of their real estate sales to the Arts Commission. This budget amendment provides <br />for the receipt of these donated funds from the Howard Perry and Walston Foundation. <br />(See Attachment 1, column # 1) <br />Department of Social Services <br />2. The Department of Social Services has received notification from the JobLink Regional <br />Partnership Local Area of JobLink Enhancement funds totaling $6,557. The department will <br />use the monies for JobLink programs at the County's Skills Development Center. There is <br />no required County match for the receipt of these funds: This budget amendment provides <br />for the receipt of these funds. (See Attachment 1, column # 2) <br />
