i:3 i <br />Motion was made by Commissioner Marshall, seconded by Commissioner Halkiotis to <br />adopt the new boundary line between Orange and~Chatham counties as mutually developed <br />and described on pages $3 ~ $6 of these minutes. - <br />VOTE: UNANIMOUS <br />1 APPROVAL OF N.C. MEMORIAL HOSPITAL CONTRAGT FOR EMS SERVICES <br />Motion was made by Commissioner Marshall, seconded by Commissioner Willhoit to <br />approve and authorize the Chair to sign the contract with North Carolina Memorial <br />Hospital to provide drivers for the Hospital Neo-natal Ground Transfer Services. The <br />Hospital will reimburse the County for all costs and provide two (2) ambulances to the <br />County. <br />VOTE: UNANIMOUS <br />- 6. INFLUENZA DEMONSTRATION PROJECT <br />The Federal Health Care Financing Administration has funded a demonstration <br />project in North Carolina to carry out a project to provide influenza vaccine to <br />Medicare, Part B, recipients as part of a study to determine the cost-effectiveness of <br />the service being reimbursed by Medicare. The Orange County Health Department has been <br />requested to participate as an intervention County by vaccinating Medicare Part B <br />recipients, distributing vaccine, provided free by the state, to other providers and to <br />survey the results. The State is providing a grant to fund the distribution and <br />surveillance elements and the department will bill Medicare $4.00 per immunization. No <br />additional county funds will be requested. <br />Motion was made by Commissioner Halkiotis, seconded by Commissioner Marshall to <br />approve the project, accept the funds, adopt the fee schedule, approve the establishment <br />of a temporary position, adopt the budget and authorize the Chair to sign. VOTE: <br />UNANIMOUS <br />7. ORANGE COUNTY COMPLETE COUNT GOMMITTEE <br />__.. Motion was made by Commissioner Marshall, seconded by Commissioner Hartwell to <br />approve the formation of a Complete Count Committee. The description of the Charge, <br />time frame and composition is in the permanent agenda file in the Clerk's Office. <br />VOTE: UNANIMOUS <br />8. ADVERTISEMENT = SEPTEMBER 14y 1989 JPA PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE (A copy of this <br />advertisement is in the permanent agenda file in the Clerk's Office). <br />Motion was made by Commissioner Halkiotis, seconded by Commissioner Marshall to <br />approve the advertisement as presented in the agenda for the September 14, 1989 Joint <br />Planning Area Public Hearing. <br />VOTE: UNANIMOUS <br />H. APPOINTMENTS <br />The following appointments were made: <br />DOMICILIARY HOME COMMUNITY ADVISORY COMMITTEE - Theodore Eason was appointed as an <br />AT LARGE representative <br />.EMS ADVISORY COUNCIL - Mary Fox and Dr. Fred Hansen were appointed as <br />representatives of the County <br />TRIANGLE J EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES COUNCIL - James Summers was appointed <br />
