Year-To-Date Budget <br />(INFORMATION CONTACT: <br />Donna Dean Coffey, (919) 245-2151 <br />Summary <br />PURPOSE: To approve budget ordinance amendments for fiscal year 2005-06. <br />BACKGROUND: <br />Department on Aging <br />1. The Eldercare division within the Department on Aging has received additional funds totaling <br />$8,862 from Manley Estates for caregiver services. These funds are a reimbursement of the <br />cost in providing temporary personnel and staff mileage for caregiver services, as well as to <br />purchase services and supplies for caregivers. This budget amendment provides for the <br />receipt of these funds for the above stated purpose. (See Attachment 1, column #1) <br />2. The Department on Aging has also received additional Retired Senior Volunteer Program <br />(RSVP) funds of $1,642 to be used to purchase personal computer storage carts and file <br />cabinets for the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program, and for RSVP records. This <br />budget amendment provides for the receipt of these additional funds for the above stated <br />purpose. (See Attachment 1, column #2) <br />3. The Community Based Services division has received additional class and rental fees at the <br />senior centers totaling $6,870. These funds will be used to pay instructors and other class <br />expenses at the three senior centers. This budget amendment provides for the receipt of <br />these additional funds for the above stated purpose. (See Attachment 1, column #3) <br />Library Services <br />4. The Library has received donated funds totaling $750 from the Orange Durham Genealogy <br />Society for genealogy materials for the North Carolina room at the Orange County Public <br />Library and from Triangle Community Foundation for children's programming at the Carrboro <br />Branch Library. This budget amendment provides for the receipt of these donated funds. <br />(See Attachment 1, column #4) <br />
