Anal sis of Im ediments to Fair Housin Choice <br />3.9 Poverty Status by Family Type and Presence of Children <br />Tables 14 demonstrates the effects of poverty status on family type and <br />presence of children. Male head of households with children under the age of 18 have 1.1 % <br />living below poverty. More than 67% (67.1 %) of female head of households with children <br />under the age of 18 live below poverty. For all households at or below poverty, 512 <br />(82.2 %) have children under the age of 18. <br />3.10 Persons Receiving Supplemental Security Income (SSI) and Public <br />Assistance <br />Table 15 compares the percent of households earning social security, supplemental <br />security income and public assistance between the City, Summit County, State of Ohio and <br />the United States. This is 2000 data and many changes have been made in coverage for <br />SSI and public assistance, the numbers for 2005 may be lower due to these changes. " <br />The City had more households on social security (28.9 %) than the other comparison <br />geographies.
