Y <br />It was the consensus of the Board that implementing the recommendations - <br />from the Camp Dresser McKee report to protect the watershed takes precedence over <br />rural character. Many policy decisions will need to be made before implementing <br />the recommendations into the various ordinances. <br />4 WATER AND SEWER SERVICE--ORANGE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL <br />Dr. Dan Lunsford, Superintendent of Orange County Schools, gave an update <br />on the progress made with regard to provision of municipal water and sewer service <br />to the new Orange Gounty elementary school. They have requested a twelve inch pipe <br />line. The Town of Hillsborough has indicated a willingness to provide water and <br />sewer service to the new school and will share in the cost of line installation. <br />Such installation will run through a small portion of the Rural Buffer thereby <br />requiring approval by Ghapel Hill, Carrboro and Orange County through the joint <br />planning agreement. <br />Motion was made by Commissioner Hartwell, seconded by Commissioner <br />Marshall to place this item on the agenda for the Joint Planning Public Hearing <br />scheduled far September 14, 1989. <br />VOTE: UNANIMOUS. <br />F. ITEMS FOR DECISION--GONSENT AGENDA - AS AMENDED <br />(Any item may be removed for separate consideration) <br />Motion was made by Commissioner Marshall, seconded by Commissioner <br />Halkiotis to approve the items on the Consent Agenda as listed below: <br />'`'~, 1. BID AWARD-ROOF REPLACEMEN AT PLANNING AND AGRICULTURE BUILDING <br />To award the bid far replacing the roof at the Planning & Agriculture <br />Building on Revere Road to C.C. Woods Construction Company, Inc, for a sum of <br />~~-,~ $74,400. One other bid was received from LA Downey Construction for $109,400. <br />2. BID AWARD--CONSULTING SERVICES FOR TELECOMMUNICATION NEEDS <br />To award the bid for consulting services for telecommunications needs <br />to Communications Consultants Corporation of Virginia for a fee not to exceed <br />$17,850. One other bid which was not inclusive was received from McGladrey & <br />Pullen for $16,000. <br />3. BOARD OF E & R MINUTES <br />To approve the June 5, 1989 minutes for the Board of Equalization and <br />Review.
