~,~, <br />~-, , -) <br />Commissioner Willhoit stated he would like to see the $15,000 for the Farmer's <br />Market be put in contingency until after a discussion with Carrboro to determine the .Y . <br />number of spaces that might be reserved for Orange County Farmers and let .the allocatian~= <br />be made by the Agricultural Extension Service. The idea is the 40~ of the people who <br />utilize the market are from Orange County. Some of the Orange County farmers were not <br />able to get spots under the shelter. If the money is going to be allocated it needs to , <br />be allocated for Orange County farmers. He also mentioned the $25,000 for the Colonial <br />Town House. He suggested putting that in a contingency. He indicated that there was a <br />need to hold discussions with the town. One suggestion was that the money be a <br />"challenge grant" to the town. <br />A motion was made by .Tohn Hartwell, seconded by Shirley Marshall, to approve the <br />Orange County Manager's Recommended Budget for Fiscal Year 1989-90 with the following <br />changes: <br />Revenues: <br />EMS Fees (219,000) <br />Property Tax-1 cent increase 344,527 <br />Transfer from School Reserve 135,840 <br />Appropriated from Fund Balance 17,737 <br />Expenditures: <br />OCCHS 10,000 <br />Mebane Library 50 <br />Trans, to Equip. Replacement Fund 11,450 <br />School Discretionary Funds 135,840 <br />Tax Collector (8,200) <br />Sheaffer House 4,102 <br />EMS (40,000) <br />Education 169,678 <br />Kidscope 6,184 <br />Equipment Replacement Fund <br />Revenues <br />Transfer from General Fund. 11,450 <br />Appropriations <br />Safety Category 11,450 <br />Current Expense for Schools 11,403,973 <br />Per pupil allocation 1,057 <br />Property tax rate will be set at 71 cents per $100 of assessed valuation. <br />The Chapel Hill/Carrboro School District supplement tax shall be set at 17.75 <br />cents. <br />The Fire Districts tax rates shall be set as follows: <br />Cedar Grove 7,0 <br />Chapel Hill 3,1 <br />Efland 9,0 <br />Eno 6.2 <br />~~ <br />
