ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT STRATEGIC PLAN <br />Motion was made by Commissioner Halkiotis, seconded by Commissioner Hartwell to <br />approve the Economic Development Strategic Plan, authorize its implementation by the <br />County, and direct the EDC to request funding through the County's budget process <br />and other revenue sources. <br />VOTE: UNANIMOUS. <br />3. COUNTY BOUNDARY LINE BETWEEN ORANGE & CHATHAM COUNTIES <br />Roscoe Reeve, Land Records Manager, outlined the proposed Orange/Chatham boundary <br />line that, upon approval by the Board, will be presented at a public hearing between <br />Orange and Chatham County on March 29, 1989. <br />Motion was made by Commissioner Willhoit, seconded by Commissioner Halkiotis to <br />approve taking to public hearing the proposed boundary line as presented by Roscoe Reeve <br />for the purpose of adopting a new boundary between Orange and Chatham Counties. <br />VOTE: UNANIMOUS. <br />4. EMERGENCY SHELTER GRANT APPLICATION <br />Motion was made by Commissioner Willhoit, seconded by Commissioner Halkiotis to <br />approve and authorize the Chairman to sign an emergency Shelter Grant Application <br />requesting $45,000 in rehabilitation funds to be used by Inter-Faith Council for <br />renovation of the Old Police Building in Chapel Hill to assist families and individuals <br />who are homeless primarily due to their economic circumstances. <br />VOTE: UNANIMOUS. <br />S FYnH EFLAND SEWER LOAN BUY-BACK WITH CURRENT RESERVES <br />Motion was made by Commissioner Willhoit, seconded by Commissioner Halkiotis to <br />-- ~ approve the buy back of the County's FmHA Efland sewer loan with current reserves - <br />approximately $53,200 from the Efland Sewer construction account and the balance from the <br />County Capital Reserve Account. <br />VOTE: UNANIMOUS. <br />H. APPQINTMENTS <br />The following 'appointments were approved by the Board: <br />1. RURAL CHARACTER STUDY COMMITTEE - GEORGE CHOCKLEY, DWIGHT COMPTON AND LARRY <br />REID <br />2. NURSING HOME COMMUNITY ADVISORY COMMITTEE - MICHAEL J. MCCANN <br />EXECUTIVE SESSION - A motion was made by Commissioner Halkiotis, seconded by Commissioner <br />Willhoit to ga into Executive Session for the purpose of consulting with the County <br />Attorney. <br />VOTE: UNANIMOUS. <br />A motion was made by Commissioner Marshall, seconded by Commissioner Hartwell to go <br />back into regular session. <br />VOTE: UNANIMOUS. <br />I.
