Oranqe County Nursinq Home Community Advisory Committee — New <br /> Appointment <br /> The Board considered making an appointment to the Orange County Nursing Home <br /> Community Advisory Committee. <br /> A motion was made by Commissioner Nelson, seconded by Commissioner Hemminger <br /> to appoint Sarah Lowman to a one-year training term ending June 1, 2011. <br /> VOTE: UNANIMOUS <br /> d. Oranqe-Person-Chatham Area Proqrams Board — New Appointment <br /> The Board considered making a new appointment to Orange-Person-Chatham Area <br /> Programs Board. <br /> A motion was made by Commissioner Pelissier, seconded by Commissioner <br /> Hemminger to appoint Paul Rosenthal to the OPC Area Programs Board, with his term ending <br /> December 31, 2011. <br /> VOTE: UNANIMOUS <br /> 12. Board Comments <br /> Commissioner Nelson — none <br /> Commissioner Jacobs asked for a status report on OPC and whether it is adding other <br /> counties. There were some concerns raised by a citizen on the way in which it is operating. <br /> Commissioner Pelissier said that the OPC Board voted to sign a letter of intent. She <br /> will forward this information when it is official. <br /> A motion was made by Commissioner Pelissier, seconded by Commissioner Yuhasz to <br /> have a work session at the first work session on August 19th, and dedicate that work session to <br /> economic development, have Economic Development Director Brad Broadwell bring together <br /> other community members, and invite staff of Chapel Hill EDC, Town of Carrboro, Chapel Hill <br /> Downtown Partnership, and Hillsborough Chamber of Commerce to talk about how to move <br /> forward with economic development. <br /> Commissioner Yuhasz asked to include the appropriate parties from the Town of <br /> Mebane. Commissioner Pelissier agreed. <br /> VOTE: UNANIMOUS <br /> Commissioner Yuhasz suggested looking as a Board at some procedure that if a <br /> Commissioner wants to add an agenda item to the agenda that it can be added. <br /> Commissioner Hemminger— none <br /> Commissioner Gordon — none <br /> Chair Foushee agreed with Commissioner Yuhasz about having a procedure for <br /> agenda items. Her intent with the Chapel Hill Library item was to put it on a work session <br /> agenda at a later time. <br /> Chair Foushee said that the elected leaders had a meeting on Friday and discussed <br /> possible referendum dates. It was determined that October 11, 2011 is not a good date <br />
