OCLC pre - tests; post -tests monthly 20-30 hrs tutor <br />__ ........... ......_- ______ <br />According to Orange County Senior Center Administrator Janice Tyler, senior volunteers identified a <br />need for seniors: <br />(i) to have access to computer classes in a learning environment conducive to seniors rather than <br />trying to fit them into an environment of younger students <br />(2) to become more immersed in the technology age and not be isolated <br />Given the right tools, a user - friendly learning atmosphere among peers, a curriculum designed to <br />reduce the fear of technology, convenient access and instruction by persons of their own generation, <br />seniors would be more become more computer literate. While the *SeniorNet program in Orange <br />County offers basic well- attended courses, SeniorNet evaluations report an increased demand for <br />more advanced classes on different subjects. If SeniorNet classes were not offered, senior students <br />would have to travel a greater distance to class and have a less user - friendly senior learning <br />environment. <br />Page 16 <br />
