2
federal action and on performance by the County. The total anticipated amount of funding as of
July 1, 2006 represents less than 8% of the overall Health Department budget.
FINANCIAL IMPACT: The state consolidated agreement is anticipated to provide $465,808
federal and state dollars to the County to provide specific services for fiscal year 2006-2007.
This includes the 15% reduction in public health preparedness funds ($10,221) that is
anticipated. An additional reduction of $24,461 in health promotion is dependent on the federal
budgeting process but has not been confirmed as being cut. The total amount funded
represents less than 8% of the overall Health Department budget.
RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends that the Board
• approve the agreement and authorize the Chair to sign the agreements and assurances
pending final review by staff and the County Attorney;
• earmark funds from the social safety net should federal funding cuts in health
preparedness and health promotion funding occur.
