~-'~- <br />Orange County, North Carolina, and <br />WHEREAS, that property was acquired by Orange County by deed recorded in Book <br />253, Page 1435 of the Orange County Registry as the result of a tax foreclosure sale, <br />which sale occurred in 1974, and <br />WHEREAS, Orange County has held the property since that time, and <br />WHEREAS, Willie Mae Riley is a former owner of the property and is presently <br />living in a home on the property and has been doing so since 1974, axid <br />WHEREAS, Orange County has $1,010 "invested" in the property, which amount <br />includes the price for which the County purchased the property in 1974 plus all taxes <br />and interest thereon for each year until the present, and <br />WHEREAS, Willie Mae Riley has offered to purchase the property £rom Orange County <br />for $1,010 and has over the years paid that much into the Office of .the Orange County <br />Tax Collector for the purchase of the property, and <br />WHEREAS, North Carolina General Statutes Section 105-376(c) authorizes Orange <br />County to sell property it has acquired by tax foreclosure sale to a former owner at <br />private sale for an amount not less than the taxing unit's interest in the property. <br />IT IS THEREFORE RESOLVED THAT <br />1. Orange County, pursuant to North Carolina General Statutes Section 160A-267 <br />and Section 105-376(c), offers to sell to Willie Mae Riley, by private sale at a <br />price of $1,010, the property owned by Orange County described in the deed recorded <br />at Book 253, Page 1435 of the Orange County Registry. <br />2. The Clerk to the Board of County Commissioners, pursuant to North Carolina <br />General Statutes Section 160A-267, is hereby authorized and directed to publish a <br />notice containing this resolution one time in the News of Orange County which notice <br />shall be published at least ten days prior to the date when the sale of the property <br />in question is consummated. <br />3. The Chair to the Board of County Commissioners is authorized to execute, in a <br />form approved by the Orange County attorney, a deed n behalf of orange County to the <br />property in question to Willie Mae Riley. ` <br />Adopted this 20th day of September, 1988. <br />3. COUNGILVILLE COMMUNITY ROAD NAMING <br />To set a public hearing for October 18, 1988 on the naming of two roads in <br />the Councilville Community in the Chapel Hi11 Township of Orange County. <br />4. 1988 CDBG GRANT AGREEMENT <br />To approve and authorize the Chair to sign the Grant Agreement, funding <br />approval and signatory form and certification for the 1988 CDBG Award for the Rencher <br />Street Community. <br />5. AUTHORIZING SUBMISSION OF AN APPLICATION FOR IN-HOME SERVICE CAREGIVER <br />SUPPORT AND STATE III-D SUPPLEMENTAL FUNDS FOR THE ELDERLY <br />To approve and authorize the chair to sign an application for state funds <br />available under Senate Bill 1559 from the Triangle J Council of Governments <br />for In-Home Services - $7,896, Caregiver Support Services - $13,143, and III-D <br />Supplemental for the Frail - $2,437. <br />VOTE: UNANIMOUS. <br />G.
