The Department of Social Services has received notification from the State of additional <br />funds for the current fiscal year for the following programs: <br />a. LINKS Program — these additional funds of $6,707 will be used for the department's <br />independent living program. This program allows the department to offer training to <br />foster care youth regarding job preparation, daily living skills, and money <br />management. This budget amendment provides for the receipt of these funds, and <br />brings the budget for this program to $39,323 for fiscal year 2005 -06. (See <br />Attachment 1, column #1) <br />b. Energy Administration Program — these additional funds of $1,962 are related to the <br />Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIEAP) Block Grant. These funds <br />will be used for temporary staff to interview and determine eligibility of low- income <br />
