3~a <br /> <br />4 <br />Income Housing Task Force recommendation be considered and the <br />expansion of Wood's Edge Mobile Home Park be considered as part of a <br />solution to the housing shortage for those citizens in the low and <br />moderate income bracket. <br />Commissioner Willhoit moved that the public <br />hearing be closed and the item referred to the Planning Board for a <br />recommendation to be brought back to the Board of Commissioners on <br />October 3, 1988. Seconded by Commissioner Hartwell. Vote <br />was unanimous. <br />Subdivision Regulations Text Amendments <br />a. Section IV-B-8 - Landscaping & Buffer <br />Requirements <br />Planner Emily Crudup responded to the question of the purpose of the <br />amendment. She noted that the purpose is to provide consistency <br />between the landscape requirements in the Zoning Ordinance and the <br />landscape and screening requirements in the Subdivision Regulations. <br />She continued, noting that sections from the <br />Zoning Ordinance had been incorporated into the Subdivision <br />Regulations, the schedule of required buffers has been simplified to <br />make it easier to enforce and to comply with. Some waiver provisions <br />have been added and the requirements for landscape plan review and <br />approval. <br />c. Section IV-B-3 - Streets (Street Name Signs) <br />Dick Helwig asked that the Board use its power to insure that <br />developers put up street signs within their subdivision projects. <br />Marvin Collins, Planning Director, stated that agenda items 6a & 6b <br />(Flood Damage Prevention Ordinance Text Amendments) must be addressed <br />tonight due to a deadline with the Federal Flood Insurance <br />Administration. <br />e. Section III (New) - Application and Approval <br />Procedures <br />Planning Board Ghair Jacobs noted those changes asked for by the <br />Ordinance Review Committee's recommended changes to this proposed <br />amendment. <br />f. Section V (New) - Specifications for Plat <br />Drawings <br />-,~ <br />s <br />Commissioner Carey expressed concern that the specifications were so <br />numerous that they would obscure the basic intent of the plat. <br />Marvin Collins, Planning Director, responded that it is not that more <br />is being required but that it be <br />more specific. All the information does not have to appear on one <br />sheet of paper; at times there <br />is a second and/or third sheet with portions of <br />
