~3s <br />RESOLUTION <br />OF THE <br />ORANGE COUNTY BOARD OF COA~II"lI SS TONERS <br />ADOPTING AND DESIGNATING <br />THE CHEEKS TOWNSHIP PLAN <br />AS.A SECTION OF THE <br />LAND USE ELEMENT OF THE COMPREHENSIVE PLAN FOR <br />ORANGE COUNTY, N.C. <br />WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners adopted the Ora~cn e <br />Countv Land Use Plan on September 2, 1981; and <br />WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners has from time-to-time <br />adopted amendments to the Oranoe Countv Land Use <br />Plan because of: <br />1. Changed or changing conditions in a particular <br />area or areas of the. County; <br />2. An error or omission in the Plan; or <br />3. A change in the policies, objectives, <br />principles ar standards governing the physical <br />development of the County; and <br />WHEREAS, proposed amendments to Articles 2.2.12 through <br />2.2.14 of the Orange County Zaning Ordinance were <br />presented at public hearing an February 22, 1988 <br />which re-defined the nature, intent, and method of <br />adapting the Comprehensive Plan for Orange County; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, following the conclusion of the public hearing and <br />the receipt of the Planning Board recommendation, <br />the Board of Commissioners adopted the proposed <br />amendments on April 4, 1988; and <br />WHEREAS, Article 2.2.12 of the Zaning Ordinance, as amended, <br />states that one element of the Comprehensive Plan <br />shall be a Land Use Element which designates the <br />general distribution, location, and extent of the <br />uses of land for housing, business, industry, open <br />space, education, public buildings and grounds, and <br />other categories of public and private uses, and <br />WHEREAS, the Cheeks Township Plan fulfills, in part, the <br />purpose and intent of the Land Use Element of the <br />Com rehensive Plan; and <br />
