<br />~~ <br />BE IT FURTHER PROCLAIMED that the Board of Commissioners encourages all <br />citizens of Orange County to participate in the J.eisure activities <br />sponsored by the Orange County Recreation and Parks Department, not <br />only during this designated month, but year-round. <br />This, the Sth day of July, 1988. <br />VOTE: UNANIMOUS. <br />E. REPORTS <br />1. EDC Preliminary Study and Status of EllC Strategic Plan Pre aration <br />Economic Development Director Sylvia Price presented background <br />information which led to the EDC Preliminary Study and gave a status report on <br />the Strategic Plan preparation. A major recommendation of the Preliminary Study <br />was that the EDC pursue the process of strategic planning. The Plan should have <br />a county-wide thrust, while taking into account the need for different goals and <br />activities in the respective geographic areas of the County. She explained how <br />the process would be carried forward. <br />F. ITEMS FOR DECISION - CONSENT AGENDA <br />Motion was made by Commissioner Hartwell, seconded by Commissioner <br />Halkiotis to approve the items as listed on the Consent Agenda and stated below.- <br />1. Topographic. Mapping Contract Between Piedmont Aerial Surveys and Orange <br />County <br />^~ To approve a contract between Piedmont Aerial Survey, Inc, and Orange <br />County for topographic mapping of Cooperation Lake and Seven Mile Creek proposed <br />reservoir sites contingent upon approval of the maps by the County Attorney. <br />2. Reappropriation of Funds for High School Ex ansion Renovation -Chapel <br />Hill-Carrboro Schools <br />To approve a request from Ghapel Hill/Carrboro Schools to reappropriate <br />unused funds from the Estes and Glenwood Schools' multipurpose projects to <br />provide funding for preliminary design work on the high school <br />renovation/expansion project in the amount of $7$,646.43. <br />3. North Carolina Housing Trust Fund--Incentive Program <br />To approve the submission of an Energy Conservation and Housing <br />Rehabi7.itation Incentive Program application to the North Carolina Housing <br />Finance; Agency and authorize the Chair to sign the application on behalf of the <br />Board. <br />4. Housing Demonstration Grant Application <br />To adopt a resolution authorizing the submission of a Housing <br />Demonstration Grant application and to establish July 19, 1988 and August 16 as <br />public hearing dates to receive public comment regarding the application. <br />VOTE: UNANIMOUS. <br />G.
