At its March 3, 1988 meeting, the Carrboro Board of Aldermen approved a resolution which requested that the Board of Commissioners amend the Joint Planning Area Land Use Plan Map to show the location of and to provide a description of Transition Areas I and II for the Carrboro Joint Development Review Area. The amendments would incorporate the description of the Rural Buffer and the Transition Areas on the Land Use Plan map and in the text of the Plan. The Orange Gounty Planning Staff recommends approval of the proposed amendments to the Joint Planning Area Land Use Plan text and map which describe the Transition Areas and Rural Buffer. b. Adjustment of Transition Area I boundary to follow western right-of-way Tine of Old NC Highway 86 and southern tight-of-way line of Dairyland Road This amendment is a request by Calvander resident, Randy Danziger that the Southwestern boundary line of Transition Area I north of Carrboro be shifted from its present location to follow the right-of-way or centerline of Hillsborough Road (Old NC Highway 86). The present boundary of Transition Area I follows the drainage divide between University Lake Watershed and Bolin Creek Basin. The proposed ;.'~ boundary would follow the western right-of-way line of Dairyland Road. The proposed boundary would represent a mare definable boundary on the ground, eliminating a situation where properties are split by Land Use Plan boundaries.
