Comments regarding the proposal are as <br />"-~~ follows; <br />Transition Area I <br />The area is bounded generally by Buckhorn Creek, the southern <br />and eastern boundaries of Fox Meadow Subdivision, Rapers <br />Road, Homestead Road, the western boundary of 'the Chapel Hill <br />High Schaal site, the Carrboro extraterritorial jurisdiction <br />line, and Old .N. C. Highway 66 and Dairyland Raad. Except for <br />land owned by the University of North Carolina and commercial <br />properties at the intersection of Dld N. C. Highway 66 and <br />Homestead Raad, the entire area is designated as "suburban <br />- Residential" an the JPA Land Use Plan. Single-family homes, <br />duplexes, apartments, condominium and townhouse projects are <br />permitted at densities ranging from one ti) to five (5) units <br />per acre. Public utilities and other urban services are to <br />be provided. <br />Properties owned by the University of North Carolina have <br />been designated "Public-Private Dpen Space" far research, <br />educational, forest management and recreational functions in <br />the JPA Land Use Plan. A petition has been submitted by the <br />University to change the designation on its land to "Future <br />UNC Development". <br />-E-~cisting commercial develvpmer~t-at:the intersection of Old <br />N.
