■ <br />Recommendation : Foster and enhance lifelong learning opportunities <br />for all adults offered through UNC, area community <br />colleges, parks and recreation departments, and <br />community groups. <br />Action Strategies: <br />A. Develop and circulate a calendar of community -based lifelong learning opportunities <br />and continue to circulate the University's listing of such opportunities ( "Think Again "). <br />B. Seek involvement of the University's Continuing Education Division in planning and <br />developing a range of non - credit, campus -based enrichment programs for Orange <br />County citizens. <br />Recommendation : Enhance Adult Education opportunities focusing on <br />basic skills, literacy, and preparation for citizenship. <br />Action Strategies: <br />A. Ensure that such literacy services, Adult Basic Education, and English as a Second Language <br />(ESL) classes are available and accessible to all adults who need them. <br />B. Ensure citizenship education is available for immigrants seeking American citizenship as <br />well as for young people approaching voting age. <br />LOW <br />
