®~ (Any item may be removed for separate consideration) <br />Motion was made by Commissioner Hartwell, seconded by Commissioner <br />Carey to approve the items on the Consent Agenda as stated below. <br />1. APPROVAL OF UPDATED TDP VEHICLE REPLACEMENT SCHEDULE <br />(A copy of the schedule is in the permanent agenda file in the ~l <br />Clerk's Office). <br />To approve an updated vehicle replacement schedule which includes <br />four backup vehicles left out of the original replacement schedule included <br />in the Orange County Transportation Development Plan. <br />2. JAIL INSPECTION REPORT <br />To receive the March 17 semiannual jail inspection report from the <br />State as information. <br />3. NON-EMERGENCY TRANSPORT FEES <br />To approve an adjustment an the non--emergency transport fees from <br />$60.00 base charge and $2.00 per loaded mile outside Orange County to <br />$70.00 base charge and $3.00 per loaded mile outside Orange County. <br />4. NON-EMERGENCY TRANSPORTS <br />To approve a contract with Durham County Hospital to provide non <br />emergency transports for Orange County residents from .5:30 p.m. until 11:Oo <br />p.m., Monday through Friday, and 7:00 a.m. until 11:00 p.m., Saturday and <br />Sunday and to authorize the Chair to sign. <br />5. LEASE FOR THE CHAPEL HILL HOUSING AUTHORITY BUILDING <br />(A copy of the lease is in the permanent agenda file in the <br />Clerk's Office) <br />To approve a lease as modified between the County and the Town of <br />Chapel Hall and the lease between the County and the State of North <br />Carolina for the Employment Security Commission and to authorize the Chair <br />to sign. <br />5. _FIREWORKS PERMIT; SPECIAL OLYMPICS <br />To approve a permit for a fireworks display in conjunction with l <br />the North Carolina Special Olympics State Summer Games to take place at <br />Fetzer Field on May 13, 1988. =~ <br />7. CONTRACT APPROVAL• ARCHITECT FOR PUBLIC WORKS ADMINISTRATION <br />BUILDING A Co of the Contract is in the ermanent a enda file in the <br />Clerk's Office L_ <br />To approve a contract with Lucy Carol Davis Associates to provide <br />architectural services an conjunction with the construction of the proposed <br />Public Works Administration building and authorize the Chair to sign. <br />VOTE: UNANIMOUS. <br />G. ITEMS FOR DECISION - REGULAR AGENDA <br />1. RECOMMENDATION AND REPORT ON GIS FOR PHASES IV AND V OF THE <br />REMAPPING PROJECT <br />Roscoe Reeve, Land Records Manager, stated .that the multi- year <br />mapping project is at the point where a decision needs to be made on the <br />next step. The base mapping phase of all the County has been completed. By <br />moving the maps to the computer, an unlimited flexibility will be available <br />in providing information about the land in a technologically and modern <br />way. He explained the process followed in studying the concept and the <br />potential of the GIS system which has led to the recommendation that GIS be <br />the option of choice for .the final phases of the remapping project. He <br />gave several, illustrations of how the system would work. He presented <br />slides which showed what the maps would look lake. <br />Motion was made by Commissioner Willhoit, seconded by Commissioner <br />Halkiotis that the Board of Commissioners approve the production of digital <br />records of property and land features as the final two phases of that -- <br />Agreement between the County and L. Robert Kimball and Associates, and that <br />the County evaluate and recommend a geographic information system (GIS) for <br />
