sites for recreation, including parks and <br />playgrounds, recreational trails, and other <br />similar areas. <br />Article 2.2.13 of the Zoning Ordinance,. if <br />amended; would provide that the Board of <br />Commissioners, upon receipt of a recommended <br />Comprehensive Plan or portions thereof from <br />the Planning Board, adopt them by resolution. <br />The Master Recreation and Parks Plan fulfills <br />the purpose and intent of the Recreation <br />Element of the Com rehensive Pl n~ Adoption <br />of the attached draft resolution would <br />implement the Zoning Ordinance amendments <br />through adoption and designation of the Ma ter <br />Recreation and Parks Plan as the Recreation <br />Element of the Com rehensive Plan. <br />The Planning Staff recommends adoption of the <br />draft resolution. (Attachment on page of <br />these minutes. <br />Commissioner Hartwell noted that no citizen <br />has spoken yet regarding pools and only a very <br />few have addressed district and community <br />parks. He expressed the desire to hear public <br />.comment on the other aspects of the Master <br />Recreation and Parks Plan. Commissioner Carey <br />agreed that he also would like to hear public <br />comment on other parts of the Plan. <br />It was the consensus of the Board to defer <br />action until other parts of the Plan had been <br />discussed at a public hearing. <br />Ted Latta indicated that he had attended three <br />out of the four Township meetings and that he <br />felt that at least 80$ of those in attendance <br />were opposed to any recreational plan due to <br />the cost. <br />County Manager Link indicated he would review <br />dates with Staff for another public hearing on <br />the other elements of the Plan and report his <br />findings to the Board on March ].. <br />5.
