This would give citizens in the landfill neighborhood the opportunity to have input on <br />this item. He said that, in the future, the Solid Waste Advisory Board should make specific <br />recommendations by motion that are recorded and forwarded to the Board of County <br />Commissioners. <br />Commissioner Brown asked that Rich Shaw, a member of the Orange County <br />Environment and Resource Conservation Department, look at this and give the Board some <br />recommendations. She would also like for this item to be forwarded to the Intergovernmental Parks <br />Work Group. <br />A motion was made by Commissioner Brown, seconded by Commissioner Jacobs to refer <br />the Landfill Landscape Restoration Plan to the Intergovernmental Parks Work Group and the <br />Environment and Resource Conservation Department for review and comment, and that a public <br />hearing be held so that the neighbors of the landfill would have a chance to provide comments. Appointments <br />The Board considered appointments to the Arts Commission, Human Relations <br />Commission, Intergovernmental Parks Work Group and Orange-Person-Chatham Mental Health <br />Board; considered adding a position and an appointment to the Library Task Force; and, considered <br />a request to remove a member from the Human Relations Commission. <br />Commissioner Jacobs asked about the Arts Commission and the Southern Human <br />Services Center's capability for displaying art.
