Under FCC regulations cable companies are permitted to request <br />rate adjustments based on inflation. <br />Triangle J Council of Governments Cable TV Consultant, Bob Sepe, has reviewed Time Warner <br />documentation on behalf of the County and determined the rates should not be increased as <br />requested by Time Warner. The consultants' report is attached and Bob Sepe will clarify <br />information in the report if requested by the Boazd. <br />The Chair of the County Cable TV Committee, Michael Patrick, concurs with TJCOG <br />determination and will present the resolution and information to the Boazd. <br />RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends the Board adopt aResolution/Order <br />Finding that Time Warner's 1998 proposed $9.04 and $8.20 Basic Service Tier Maximum <br />Permitted Rates as Unreasonable and Setting the Basic Service Tier Maximum Permitted <br />Rates at $8.84 and $8.02 for the Carrboro and Chapel Hill Cable Televeision System. <br />
