Delete minutes for August 3, October 14, and October 20. 297 <br />Commissioner Halkiotis asked that Roscoe Reeve give a presentation at <br />a future Board meeting to explain the importance and relevance of the <br />house numbering system for the benefit of those persons who live in <br />Hideaway Estates. <br />He asked that a one-day program be held with the d3.fferent agencies <br />that deal with teen pregnancy to determine if there is duplication in the <br />delivery of these services. <br />He acknowledged receipt of a letter from Farris Womack of the <br />University which stated a willingness to work with the County on the issue <br />of Refuse Derived Fuel (RDF). <br />B. MATTERS NOT ON THE PRINTED AGENDA <br />Clayton Bjorklund of Buttonwood Drive presented a petition which <br />asked that the County revise the County's Noise Ordinance. He stated that <br />music from Roman's Roller Rink is loud and interferes with the privacy of <br />area residents. He explained the difficulty he was having in getting this <br />problem resolved. <br />The Dispute Settlement Center met with the owners of Roman's <br />Roller Rink and some of the people who live in the neighborhood and there <br />was agreement to work together to the satisfaction of everyone. <br />Roman Hines, co-owner of the skating rink, indicated he talked <br />with Mr. Bjorklund and told him he would work with him to resolve this <br />problem. He stressed the importance of having a place for the young <br />people in the community. He admitted playing the music loud but stated <br />that he has played the music lower since receiving complaints from the <br />i neighborhood. They couldnot get any security from the Sheriff's <br />`'' Department Deputies for the rink which causes a problem with control of <br />the kids. <br />County Manager Albert Kittrell stated that the County will <br />continue to work with the Dispute Settlement Center, the Sheriff's Depart- <br />ment and with both parties involved to resolve the issue. <br />Commissioner Willhoit suggested that sound panels may help buffer <br />the noise from the skating rink. He noted that the low frequency noise is <br />not addressed in the Ordinance and should be reviewed for inclusion. <br />C.
