Box 25201 <br />1 South Wilmington Street <br />Raleigh, North Carolina 27611 <br />Dear Mr. Galyon: <br />!it°~ <br />I write on behalf of the governing boards of Orange County and its municipalities to request <br />assistance in placing traffic control signs along Rogers Road, in the neighborhoods adjacent to <br />the Orange County Regional Landfill. Neighborhood representatives, in working with elected <br />officials of all four local governments, have identified concerns about dangers to children in these <br />neighborhoods from vehicular traffic heading to and from the landfill. <br />The neighbors have requested specifically that "School Bus Stop" and "Children Playing" signs be <br />erected along Rogers Road at locations they would identify. All four governing boards have <br />indicated their support for this request. I would appreciate your forwarding it to the appropriate <br />parties within NCDOT, and your support and assistance in helping us to achieve the outcome of <br />enhanced safety for the residents in the neighborhoods near the landfill. The County's point of <br />contact for this matter is Public Works Director Wilbert McAdoo, who can be reached at (919 <br />732-8 i 81, extension 2625.
