a ~~7- ~~ <br />RESOLUTION OF APPRECIATION <br />TED ABERNATHY <br />WHEREAS, Ted Abernathyhas served as Director of the Orange County Economic <br />Development Commission for eight years; and <br />WHEREAS, Ted Abern$thyhas provided the Economic Development Commission with <br />exemplary staff leadership which has resulted in the following major accomplishments of <br />the Commission: <br />• the creation of a comprehensive database of all available commercial space in Orange County, <br />• the establishment of three Economic Development Districts, <br />• the creation of the annual State of the Local Economy Breakfast, <br />• the establishment of "Shop Orange First", a campaign to make citizens aware of the contribution <br />of sales tax revenue to Orange County; <br />• an updated Strategic Plan for Economic Development in Orange County, and <br />• the creation of the Visitor's Bureau; and <br />WHEREAS, Ted Abes~athyhas helped to support the location of several new businesses and <br />to guide many established businesses through expansion projects; and <br />WHEREAS, during his tenure, Orange County has welcomed over 10,000 new jobs. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Orange County Baard of Commissioners <br />does hereby express its gratitude and appreciation to Ted Abernathyfor his years of service and <br />commitment to the citizens of Orange County. <br />This, the 17th day of February. <br />I ~ - <br />rgaret .Brown, Chair Stephen H.
