Hunt, Jr. has proclaimed the week of February 22 - 28, <br />1998, as Severe Weather Awazeness Week. A statewide tornado drill will <br />be held on February 25, 1998. The drill consists of practice watches and <br />warnings being issued by the National Weather Service, and broadcast to <br />the public over radio and television stations. The purpose of the drill is to <br />heighten citizen awazeness and allow their participation by practicing <br />movements to safe azeas in their home or office. All county schools <br />typically exercise their tornado plans during this plan. <br />Recommendation: <br />The Manager recommends the Board adopt the proclamation designating <br />the week of February 22 - 28, 1998, as Severe Weather Awazeness Week, <br />in Orange County, and encourage citizens to learn more about tornadoes. <br />
