8 , <br />North Carolina <br />Orange County <br />Performance Agreement <br />This Agreement, made and entered into the first day of July, 1998, by and between the <br />County of Orange, 200 South Cameron Street, Hillsborough, North Carolina, hereinafter <br />referred to as "County, "and the Chapel Hill-Carrboro YMCA, 980 Airport Road, Chapel <br />Hill, North Carolina 27514, hereinafter referred to as "YMCA." <br />WITNESSETH: <br />WHEREAS, the YMCA does and will continue to provide child care services and youth <br />services for young people of middle school/high school age with no membership <br />requirement; and <br />WHEREAS, the YMCA will use County funds to assist with the renovation of existing <br />buildings to expand the current child care facility and construction of an addition for a <br />Teen Center; and <br />WHEREAS, the YMCA will provide permanent office and meeting space for Youth <br />Voices of Orange County, the local youth council; and <br />WHEREAS, the YMCA will solicit and incorporate input from Youth Voices of Orange <br />County regarding services, programs and activities for youth; and <br />WHEREAS, it is in the interests of the County that said program be assisted by the <br />County and thereby enhance its availability to residents of the County, and said program <br />addresses an important community human services need, as identified by the County <br />Board of Commissioners. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, in consideration of the above and the mutual covenants and <br />conditions hereafter set forth, the County and YMCA agree as follows: <br />1. County Support <br />The County agrees to appropriate for the expansion of facilities as described in <br />Paragraphs above, the sum to the YMCA for the fiscal <br />year 1998-99. This appropriation is based upon service provided. The County does not <br />obligate itself to provide any other support to the YMCA this fiscal year or in succeeding <br />years. <br />
