This would be-the General <br />Assistance line item in the Social Services budget <br />C. MINUTES <br />Consideration of the March 24, 1987 minutes was postponed to the next <br />meeting. <br />PUBLIC CHARGE <br />Chair Marshall read the "Public Charge" as approved by the Board and <br />as contained in the rules of procedures for the Board. <br />PUBLIC HEARINGS (Continued from the May 26, 1987 Meeting) <br />1. LAND USE PLAN AMENDMENTS -- LITTLE RIVER TOWNSHIP COMPONENT <br />Staff .presentation was made by Gene .Bell. <br />The presentation was made in three parts: the process; the <br />existing plan; and the proposed plan and related issues. <br />I. The Process <br />The process began with the reactivation of TAC's in March 1986. <br />_ Since that time there have been eleven meetings. in Caldwell <br />dealing with the Plan and related issued. <br />Plannins Staff identified four basic steps in updating the Land <br />Use Plan: <br />(1) A determination of existing conditions; <br />(2) Analysis of trends; <br />(3).Development of organizing concepts or guiding principles; and <br />(4) Compilation of the Draft Plan. <br />The four step process was typified by the following questions: <br />(1) Where are we? <br />(2) Where are we going? <br />(3) Where do we want to go? <br />(4) How do we get there? <br />Having identified the steps in the process, Bell elaborated as <br />follows: <br />(1) Existing Conditions <br />a) The staff conducted a survey of existing land use in <br />Little river township in December 1986. The results of <br />the survey are tabulated on the botton of page 16 of the <br />agenda. (Attachment to these minutes on page ) <br />b) Existing conditions also identified and evaluated included <br />the natural environment and constraints or opportunities <br />posed by the conditions to growth. These areas included: <br />- flood prone areas <br />- steep slopes (15~) <br />
