Yes No <br />ATTACHMENT(S): INFORMATION CONTACT: <br />Bob Jones, ext 2661 <br />Pam Jones, ext. 2650 <br />Proposal Telephone Number- <br />Hillsborough 732-8181 <br />Chapel Hiil 967-9251 <br />Mebane 227-2031 <br />Durham 688-7331 <br />PURPOSE: To consider approving a contract to retain Callemyn Parker, Inc. for <br />surveying work to be done at the Efland-Cheeks Community School Park site. <br />BACKGROUND: Updated and accurate surveys are required for the Efland-Cheeks ~ <br />Community School Park in order to complete construction documents. <br />Callemyn Parker Inc. has quoted $5,000 for the following work: <br />• Conduct a control survey with boundary and topographic information; and <br />• Create a recordable plat of site showing existing tracts, all building footprints, and <br />surrounding visible improvements; and <br />• Create a topographical survey at 2 foot contours; and <br />• Present the information in CADD format (Autocadd R14); and <br />• Assist designers with data interpretation, work with the County's Planning <br />Department and supply follow up information. <br />Callemyn Parker, Inc. has performed other survey work at this site and maintains the <br />data in their computer system. Since this data is useful in creating the topo and <br />boundary survey required for this phase of the project, Callemyn Parker Inc. offers some <br />economy in the survey cost. <br />RECOMMENDATION: The Manager recommends that the Board authorize the use of <br />Callemyn Parker, Inc. pursuant to their March 23, 1998 proposal at a cost not to exceed <br />$5,000; and authorize the Purchasing Director to execute the appropriate paperwork. <br />
