Auction to be held Saturday, <br />May 16, 1998 at the Public works Department located on Highway 86, Hillsborough. <br />BACKGROUND: General Statute 160A-270(b) requires this procedure to dispose of surplus personal <br />property. <br />Quotations were solicited from local auctioneers with Phillip Walker Auctions <br />submitting the lowest responsible fee of 2.49%. A tabulation of the results is <br />enclosed. <br />Funds generated from the sale of surplus personal property goes to Orange County. <br />Funds for the sale of abandoned and confiscated property is to be evenly divided <br />between the two school systems after deducting for expenses, as provided in the <br />North Carolina Statutes. <br />RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends the Board accept the resolution. <br />
