Pettitt, ext. 2054 <br />TELEPHONE NUMBERS: <br />Hillsborough - 732-8181 <br />Durham - 688-7331 <br />Mebane - 227-2031 <br />Chapel Hill - 968-4501 <br />PURPOSE: To proclaim April 19-25 as Orange County Infant Immunization Week <br />BACKGROUND: To ensure a good start for the future citizens of North Carolina, the General <br />Assembly, and the Governor have made childhood immunizations a top priority. <br />April 19-25 has been proclaimed National Infant Immunization Week. The Orange County <br />Coalition for Immunization was organized by the Cooperative Extension Service in an effort to <br />have groups and agencies work together to increase the immunization rate in Orange County. <br />The Coalition requests that April 19-25 be proclaimed as Orange County Infant Immunization <br />Week. <br />RECOMMENDATIONS: To proclaim the week of April 19-25 as Orange County Infant <br />Immunization Week and authorize the Chair to sign the proclamation on behalf of the Board. <br />
