The 1991 amendment to the 1964 <br />Civil Rights Act, in recognition of this fact, established the Glass Ceiling Commission to <br />conduct a study and prepaze recommendations concerning the elimination of artificial <br />bazriers to the advancement of women and to create opportunities to foster their <br />advancement to management and decisiohmaking positions in business. Traditionally, a <br />day has been set aside to focus national attention to these issues. This yeaz, the date <br />established was April 3rd and the name for the occasion has been changed from Women's <br />Equity Day to Equal Pay Day. <br />RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends that the Board approve the <br />proposed proclamation and authorize the Chair to sign it. <br />
