He stated <br /> provisions have been made to deliver mail at the old address and the new <br /> address indefinitely. <br /> Commissioner Halkiotis asked that the Postmaster meet with the <br /> Planning Staff to work out the problem areas that have been identified. <br /> Chair Marshall assured the citizens in the audience that if there are <br /> specific problems, they will be addressed by the Board. <br /> Commissioner Hartwell questioned the statement made by the Postmaster <br /> that there will be four new rural routes as of Saturday. The Postmaster <br /> indicated that these people will receive a new address change on Saturday <br /> and again when house numbers are assigned. Commissioner Hartwell asked if <br /> these changes could wait until April and the Postmaster indicated they <br /> could. <br /> WITH NO FURTHER COMMENTS THE PUBLIC HEARING WAS CLOSED. <br /> D. RESOLUTIONS OR PROCLAMATIONS <br /> 1. RESOLUTION HONORING ROBERT TENNANT <br /> Motion was made by Commissioner Carey, seconded by Commissioner <br /> Halkiotis to adopt and present to Robert Tennant a resolution of <br /> appreciation. The resolution is printed below: <br /> RESOLUTION OF APPRECIATION <br /> FOR <br /> ROBERT S. TENNANT <br /> WHEREAS, in March of 1978, Robert S. Tennant became District <br /> Conservationist and Department Head for the Soil and Water Conservation <br /> Service; and <br /> WHEREAS, for the past nine years he has provided valuable assistance to <br /> farmers in advising them on technical matters pertaining to the planning <br /> and application of the best management conservation practices that should <br /> be installed. Such practices have saved for future generations millions <br /> of tons of top soil that otherwise would have been eroded; and <br /> WHEREAS, Robert S. Tennant has served on the Agricultural Task Force to <br /> help identify measures preserve farmland, and on the Water Resources Task <br /> Force to help develop local strategies affecting surface water of the <br /> County; and <br /> WHEREAS, Robert S. Tennant acting under authority of the District Board of <br /> Supervisors, has earned through hard work and dedication the respect and <br /> appreciation of government officials, peers, coworkers, and citizens of <br /> Orange County; and <br /> WHEREAS, Robert S. Tennant has determined that it is now time for him to <br /> retire and channel his efforts toward new endeavors, <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Orange County Board of <br /> Commissioners declares Robert S. Tennant to have been a good steward, <br /> leader and member of Orange County Government and the District Soil <br /> Conservation Service. <br /> THEREFORE, on behalf of the citizens of Orange County, it expresses to <br /> Robert S. Tennant its sincere appreciation and gratitude for his years of <br /> service and contributions to Orange County and the Soil and Water <br /> Conservation Service, and wishes to him happiness and good health in the <br /> future. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this Resolution be presented to Robert S. <br /> Tennnt and a copy of the resolution be spread upon the minutes of this <br /> regular meeting of the 24th day of March, 1987 . <br /> VOTE: UNANIMOUS. <br />
