'.1 <br />`~.. <br />necessary by the Task Force. <br />Motion was made by Commissioner Carey, seconded by Commissioner <br />Halkiotis to approve the charge as amended and printed below: <br />AIRPORT ISSUES TASK FORCE CHARGE ~,.,~,I <br />The charge for the Airport Issues Task Force was approved by the Board of <br />Commissioners an January 20, 1987. The charge includes the following <br />tasks: <br />1. Identify advantages, disadvantages and barriers to the relocation <br />alternatives for the Horace Williams Airport. <br />2. Solicit early public comment on the subject of possible <br />relocation to clarify issues and identify special interests. <br />3. Compile an inventory of current and potential airport users <br />together with their requirements for proximity to Carrboro, Chapel Hill, <br />UNC and Memorial Hospital. <br />4. Determine the standards governing the location, size and <br />operation of an airport-, including FAA and NCDOT rules and regulations, <br />natural constraints to airport development, and proximity to existing and <br />proposed residential and business areas, and major traffic arteries. <br />5. Plan for relocation, ownership and operation addressing: <br />a. Finance of land acquisition and construction costs; and <br />b. Operating revenues; and <br />c. Current and anticipated costs involved in airport operations <br />and maintenance. <br />6. Identify any other considerations which the NCDOT and FAA <br />recommends for consideration in site relocation. <br />7. Solicit comments and involvement from Chatham and Durham Counties <br />and Raleigh-Durham Airport. - <br />8. Render a final report and recommendation by August 3, 1987. <br />VOTE: UNANIMOUS. <br />13. NACo ACHIEVEMENT AWARDS <br />Motion was made by Commissioner Willhoit, seconded by <br />Commissioner Carey to approve the submission of the following program <br />descriptions for the NACo Annual Achievement Award competition: <br />Commission for Women - Businesswomen's Roundtable <br />Recreation and Parks Department - Nature Enrichment Programs <br />Planning Department - Computerized Permit System <br />Department on Aging - VITA Program <br />VOTE: UNANIMOUS. <br />H.
