The ordinance became effective July 1, 1993 and impact fees <br />have been collected in the Orange County Schools District and Chapel Hill - Carrboro City <br />Schools District since that time. Fees collected in each school district are placed in a trust <br />fund for the purpose of funding new public school space in that district. The current <br />impact fee for the Orange County Schools District is $750.00 and $3,000.00 for the <br />Chapel Hill - Carrboro City Schools District. <br />The basis for the impact fee structure is documented in Technical Report - Calculation of <br />Proportionate Share Impact Fees for Financing Public School Capital Needs, commonly <br />referred to as the Technical Report. The Technical Report was first revised in May, 1995 <br />to include new cost data for school construction. It was revised again in May, 1996 to <br />
