,off` S-~ -9d' <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE ORANGE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />AWARDING A RESCUE SERVICE FRANCHISE TO ORANGE COUNTY <br />UNDERWATER SEARCH AND RECOVERY TEAM ,INC. <br />WHEREAS, Orange County Underwater Search and Recovery Team, Inc. is anon-profit <br />organization incorporated under North Carolina law with the specific intended mission to provide <br />a comprehensive search and recovery service to the citizens of Orange County, and <br />WHEREAS, Orange County Underwater Search and Recovery Team, Inc. has complied with the <br />provisions of Orange County's "Ordinance Regulating Emergency Medical, First Responder, and <br />Rescue Service Granting of Franchises and Contracts to the Operators in the County of Orange" <br />in submitting its application to provide Water/Underwater Search and Rescue/ Scuba services, <br />and <br />WHEREAS, Orange County staff and the Orange County Emergency Medical Services Advisory <br />Council have reviewed the application and found that the services are needed and that the <br />applicant is well-qualified to provide the service; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED, by the Board of Commissioners of Orange County, <br />North Carolina, that: <br />Section 1. The rescue service franchise requested by Orange County Underwater Search and <br />Recovery Team, Inc. is hereby approved. <br />Section 2. This ordinance shall become effective immediately upon its adoption. <br />Upon motion of Commissioner Crowther ,seconded by Commissioner Halkiotis <br />the foregoing ordinance was adopted this the 6th day of May , 1998, having been passed in two <br />readings at two successive meetings of the Board of County Commissioners. <br />I, Beverly A.
