Crow, Director <br />Orange County <br />306F Revere Road <br />Hillsborough, NC 27278 <br />Re: St. Mary's Road Corridor Preservation Planning Study <br />Grant Amount: $ 4,000 <br />Dear Mr. Belk: <br />I am pleased to inform you that your application for a 1998 <br />Certified Local Government (CLG) grant is one of twelve selected <br />for funding from among twenty -four proposals. Grant funds are <br />made available to CLGs through the State Historic Preservation <br />Office, Division of Archives and History, from the Historic <br />Preservation Fund (HPF) administered by the National Park <br />Service, U.S. Department of the Interior. <br />This year approximately $70,000 will be awarded to county and <br />municipal governments participating in the CLG program. Funding <br />is targeted for archaeology, architectural survey, commission <br />training, design guidelines, restoration, and nominations to the <br />National Register of Historic Places. <br />The enclosed Grant Project Outline, based on your grant <br />application, will provide a brief summary of anticipated <br />activities and costs related to-your project. To indicate your <br />acceptance of the grant, with its related conditions, please sign <br />both copies of the enclosed Grant Agreement and the Certification <br />of Matching Share Form and return them by April 30, 1998, to <br />Linda Harris Edmisten, grants administrator, State Historic <br />Preservation Office, Division of Archives and History, 109 East <br />Jones Street, Raleigh, NC 27601 -2807.
