3 <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE ORANGE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />AUTHORIZING A CHANGE IN THE FEES TO BE CHARGED BY JOHNSTON <br />AMBULANCE SERVICE <br />WHEREAS, the Orange County Board of Commissioners on May 2, 1994 approved a franchise <br />requested by Johnston Ambulance Service for the provision of non - emergency ambulance <br />transportation between points in Orange County, and <br />WHEREAS, Johnston Ambulance Service has delivered satisfactory service since the award of <br />their franchise, and <br />WHEREAS, Orange County's franchise ordinance provides that each franchisee shall submit a <br />schedule of rates to the County for approval and shall not charge more nor less than the approved <br />rates without specific approval by the County, and <br />WHEREAS, Johnston Ambulance Service has requested that its rates be increased to $125 per <br />trip plus $3.50 per loaded transport mile with a $15 charge for oxygen used during the trip, and <br />WHEREAS, Orange County staff and the Orange County Emergency Medical Services Advisory <br />Council have reviewed the request and found it to be reasonable and appropriate; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED, by the Board of Commissioners of Orange County, <br />North Carolina, that: <br />Section 1. The rate increase requested by Johnston Ambulance Service, to $125 per trip plus <br />$3.50 per loaded transport mile with a $15 charge for oxygen used during the trip, is hereby <br />approved. <br />Section 2. This ordinance shall become effective immediately upon its adoption. <br />Upon motion of Commissioner , seconded by Commissioner <br />the foregoing ordinance was adopted this the day of , 1998. <br />I, Beverly A.
