Under NCGS 153A -46, any action related to granting or amending a franchise requires a passing <br />vote by the governing board at two regular meetings. Since the Board approved the franchise <br />amendment at the first reading on April 21, an affirmative vote at this second reading will result in <br />the approval of the requested rate increase to Johnston Ambulance Service. <br />RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends that the Board approve the new rate <br />schedule as requested by Johnston Ambulance Service. <br />
