Dyer Letters of 4/14/98 & 4/15/98 <br />- Secondary Road Addition Reports <br />- NC DOT Site Vicinity Maps <br />INFORMATION CONTACT: Slade McCalip <br />Extension 2595 <br />TELEPHONE NUMBERS: <br />Hillsborough - 732-8181 <br />Durham - 688-7331 <br />Mebane - 227-2031 <br />Chapel Hill - 967-9251 <br />PURPOSE: To consider a petition from NC DOT for approval of the addition of Poplar Drive <br />in the Wagon Farm Trail Subdivision, Cheeks Township & Crescent Drive in the <br />Crescent Ridge Subdivision, Chapel Hill Township to the State-maintained <br />Secondary Road System. <br />BACKGROUND: The citizens that live along Poplar Drive and Crescent Drive have petitioned NC <br />DOT to accept the maintenance responsibilities for Poplar Drive and Crescent <br />Drive. NC DOT has investigated this request (see attached Secondary Road <br />Addition Reports) and have submitted petitions for the addition Poplar Drive and <br />Crescent Drive to the Board of Commissioners for their review and approval. <br />The Board's decision will be forwarded to the N.C. Board of Transportation for <br />their deliberation on acceptance of the road to the State-maintained Secondary <br />Road System. <br />RECOMMENDATION: The Administration recommends approval of the additions of Poplar Drive and <br />Crescent Drive to the State-maintained Secondary Road System. <br />
